Frequently asked questions

Do you charge for estimates?

Estimates for replacements and new installations are free and in writing. Service and repair visits carry a minimum trip charge, and we tell you the amount when you book.

What areas do you serve?

We're based in Whittier and give same-week service from the San Fernando Valley and the Westside east to Ontario and Chino, south to Downey and Whittier. See the full list on our service area page.

Should I go heat pump or replace my AC and furnace like-for-like?

In the LA County climate a modern inverter heat pump heats efficiently on the coldest nights we get and cools better than the unit it replaces, and it is the path to most rebates. Like-for-like still makes sense when the gas furnace is young and only the AC has failed. We quote both and show the operating cost side by side.

Do you pull permits and do HERS testing?

On every replacement and every new system, yes. Rebates require a closed permit, Title 24 requires HERS verification on many change-outs, and an unpermitted install is a liability on a property you will eventually sell or refinance.

Are your technicians employees?

Yes. All 16 are W-2 employees of HVAC-AIR Conditioning Corporation, covered by our workers' compensation and liability insurance. We do not subcontract installs or service.
